General Audio-Visual (AV) Technician – Tier III Maintenance
About The Position
Dobbs Defense Solutions is seeking an experienced Audio-Visual (AV) Technician to provide Tier III maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and technical support for mission-critical AV and Video Teleconferencing (VTC) systems in Fairfield, Pennsylvania. The technician will perform preventive maintenance, corrective repairs, equipment testing, and system sustainment to ensure reliable operation of secure communications and conferencing systems within a Department of Defense environment. The position is on-site and requires an active DoD Secret clearance. The role supports AV/VTC systems and associated equipment, including integrated audio, video, conferencing, and control systems. It involves maintaining and troubleshooting Crestron, Extron, Cisco, and other professional AV/VTC technologies; supporting installation and configuration; and documenting service activity, inventories, and maintenance records. Applicable candidates may be asked to provide documentation to verify HUBZone eligibility and are expected to maintain applicable residency requirements throughout employment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, or repairing professional AV/VTC systems.
- Experience with Crestron, Extron, Cisco, audio signal processing, video distribution, and integrated control systems.
- Strong technical troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to perform equipment maintenance and support secure Government facilities.
- Active DoD Secret clearance.
Nice To Haves
- Associate degree or technical training in Electronics, AV Technology, Telecommunications, or a related discipline.
- AVIXA CTS or relevant manufacturer certifications.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and corrective repairs on AV/VTC systems and associated equipment.
- Provide Tier III break-fix support for integrated audio, video, conferencing, and control systems.
- Maintain and troubleshoot Crestron, Extron, Cisco, and other professional AV/VTC technologies.
- Diagnose and repair issues involving microphones, speakers, displays, codecs, digital signal processors, cabling, and video distribution equipment.
- Support equipment installation, replacement, configuration, system testing, and operational readiness verification.
- Maintain service documentation, equipment inventories, and maintenance records.
- Coordinate technical issues with Government personnel and engineering teams.
