About The Position

DM Injury Law is hiring an Attorney Team Lead to lead a team of pre-litigation attorneys in its Kansas City office while managing a personal injury caseload. The role reports to the Regional Pre-Litigation General Manager and works with a dedicated case manager. Paralegals and intake staff handle administrative work, allowing the attorney to focus on clients, negotiations, and case strategy.

Compensation is $200,000–$250,000 in total compensation, consisting of base salary and quarterly performance bonuses. Top performers may earn more, with no cap. The position also offers an uncapped origination bonus equal to one-third of the firm’s fee for each case the attorney brings in, from day one. There are no billable-hour requirements in this contingency practice.

Requirements

• Active Missouri Bar license.
• Eligibility for a Kansas Bar license through UBE score or reciprocity.
• At least two years of personal injury experience.
• A client-first approach grounded in understanding how case outcomes affect people’s lives.
• Self-direction and organization in a high-volume practice.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfort with legal technology and case management software.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of pre-litigation attorneys.
• Manage a personal caseload from intake through demand and resolution.
• Keep clients informed through proactive, consistent communication.
• Negotiate with insurance adjusters to maximize client recovery.
• Draft demand letters, settlement agreements, and correspondence, and review the team’s work for accuracy.
• Direct the paralegals and case managers supporting the Kansas City office.
• Meet regularly with the Pre-Litigation General Manager about career growth and strategy.
• Build referral relationships to grow a book of business and income.
