About The Position
A well-established law firm located in downtown Chicago is seeking an Estate Planning Attorney with at least 2 years of experience to join its growing practice. The firm advises high net worth individuals across a broad range of industries and backgrounds on sophisticated estate planning matters.
Requirements
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Licensed and in good standing in Illinois (or eligible for admission)
- 2+ years of experience in estate planning and/or trust administration
- Strong drafting, analytical, and client-facing skills
Responsibilities
- Draft and implement comprehensive estate plans for high-net-worth individuals, including: Revocable and irrevocable trusts, Trust and estate administration, Wills and related estate planning documents, Powers of attorney and healthcare directives
- Advise clients on wealth transfer strategies, asset protection, and legacy planning
- Collaborate with clients’ financial advisors, accountants, and other professionals
- Assist with trust administration and post-death matters, as needed
- Stay current on federal and state estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax laws
