The General Services Attendant provides safe transportation for patients and visitors between the emergency department entrance and designated self-parking stalls, and enforces parking restrictions for those spaces. During downtime, the attendant supports normal business operations. As an early point of contact for patients and visitors arriving on campus, the attendant helps facilitate patient visits through professional, courteous, respectful, and helpful interactions. Duties include verifying appointments, communicating with practice colleagues to obtain appointment details, applying visitor and entrance policies and screening processes, greeting visitors, and helping with navigation. The attendant monitors patient and visitor flow in designated buildings, remains composed in stressful situations, and helps de-escalate conflict. The role may include view-only access to the electronic health record to verify information, wheelchair and stretcher transportation, deliveries and specimen transport, courier runs, and employee shuttle transportation. Varied hours may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with rotating days off.
