About The Position

Granite State Independent Living (GSIL) has immediate per diem position openings for Attendant Care Employees (ACE) in Jaffrey and Hinsdale NH. As an ACE for Granite State Independent Living, you can make a meaningful impact by providing compassionate support to our consumers and promoting their independence. Granite State Independent Living is a statewide non-profit and New Hampshire's only Center for Independent Living, staying close to its roots with a focus on its 5 core services of education, information, advocacy, support, and transition services for people with disabilities and underserved youth. The organization is led by a board of directors and staff, over 51% of whom are people with disabilities, enabling them to speak and think with authority on behalf of the people they serve and support. GSIL carries out its mission through Home Care Services, Community-Based Disability Supports, and Employment Services, assisting people with the tools for living life independently and remaining committed to the principle of personal choice and direction.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years old
• Must be able to frequently lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds or more
• Adequate car insurance (if applicable)

Responsibilities

• Activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, transferring, eating)
• Provide in-home care
• Range of motion/exercises
• Laundry, meal preparation, housekeeping, organization etc.
• Assisting with ambulation and transfers
• Use of mechanical lifting devices (will provide training if necessary)
• Medication assistance (reminding a consumer of when it is time to take their medication)
• Providing support in the community with running errands
