About The Position

Responsible for managing the total school attendance program. This role bridges the gap between classroom-level student support and building-level administration to ensure that good attendance, which is necessary for learning, is prioritized.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education
  • Minimum of 5 years teaching and/or administrative experience.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor building-wide attendance daily and track systemic attendance trends.
  • Coordinate the development of attendance-related schedules and special events.
  • Provide leadership for the staff in implementing a centralized, proactive attendance system rather than responsibilities being spread thinly across various departments.
  • Maintain appropriate, accurate attendance records and prepare progress reports for administration and the Superintendent.
  • Establish clear expectations and universal parent communication.
  • Manage attendance contracts, advisory interventions, and counselor/admin check-ins.
  • Create an environment conducive to learning by helping students set and maintain standards for attendance behavior.
  • Assist and support students in gaining the attendance habits necessary to contribute to their development as responsible men and women.
  • Be available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day.
  • Address complaints and resolve problems related to attendance barriers.
  • Provide general supervision to students and supervise extracurricular activities as needed.
  • Administer a program of student discipline specifically related to attendance and truancy.
  • Assist with the training of employees regarding attendance protocols.
