About The Position

This position plays a crucial role in supporting the operations of the Athletics Department, with a focus on communications and game day management. The coordinator will be involved in various aspects, including managing summer camp registrations and websites, overseeing promotional events and student workers for fan engagement, creating content for videoboards and TV monitors, and assisting with website updates and content management. Additionally, the role involves administrative tasks such as processing student worker information, managing office organization, and handling game day operations for various sports. A unique aspect of this position includes responsibilities as an assistant coach for a women's sport, potentially involving travel for competitions and recruiting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
  • Excellent computer skills (or willingness to learn)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of desktop publishing programs like Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Experience competing in or coaching a women’s sport

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with coaches and staff for summer camp registrations and website updates.
  • Oversee and supervise Ryken’s Rowdies, including hiring student workers and managing social media presence.
  • Setup and coordinate promotional days and events for sporting events.
  • Create and manage content for videoboards and TV monitors.
  • Create Gameday programs for various sports.
  • Assist with updating the Wheaton Athletics website content (bios, forms, camp information, sponsor information).
  • Assist with the creation, distribution, and oversight of Wheaton Athletics season passes.
  • Assist with the creation and distribution of team rosters.
  • Serve as co-contact for Wheaton College volleyball, overseeing gameday operations, game staffing, event setup, and videoboard coordination.
  • Coordinate "media days" with the department photographer or other professionals.
  • Assist with the hiring and processing of student worker information for various athletic department areas.
  • Receive phone calls and visitors, respond to queries, and refer them to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain office organization, including filing, mail, supplies, equipment, mailings, errands, petty cash, and deposits.
  • Work select sporting events as a game day operations manager.
  • Hire and supervise student workers and volunteers for scorer’s tables, pressboxes, and scoreboards.
  • Work with Athletics Communications Director and Special Projects Manager for hospitality at special events.
  • Serve as an assistant coach for a women's sport, potentially including travel for competitions and recruiting.
