About The Position

This entry level Athletic Trainer is responsible for: prevention of athletic injury & illness; injury evaluation, assessment, and management; rehabilitation of athletic injury. This position will also be responsible for assisting in policy and procedure development and the education and counseling of student athletes and coaches. This role will also assist the sports medicine staff in various other areas as deemed necessary by the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine. The Assistant Athletic Trainer will be responsible for maintaining a commitment to NCAA Rules and Compliance.

Requirements

  • Certified by the National Athletic Trainer’s Association
  • CPR certification
  • Eligible for an Ohio Athletic Training license
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Exceptional computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to complete and maintain mandatory training per the University Mandatory Training policy
  • Flexibility in work hours/days
  • Ability to function as a member of a sports medicine team
  • Demonstrate professional and ethical behavior

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of a master’s degree is required but will accept a bachelor’s degree with some experience in lieu of higher education.
