The Athletic Director will be held accountable for administering extra-curricular athletic programs, supervising staff, maintaining records, responding to information requests, implementing board policies, assessing department needs, evaluating programs, developing handbooks, informing the school community, staying current on research, developing grade-check systems, submitting eligibility reports, updating team schedules, overseeing transportation, developing safety plans, and monitoring the academic performance of student-athletes. This role also directs and coordinates fiscal operations, creates schedules for all operations and activities, manages contracts, and coordinates with external organizations for facility usage. Additionally, the Athletic Director is responsible for recommending, managing, supervising, and evaluating staff, coordinating program development, and managing facilities. The role also supervises departmental activities and operations, and establishes a positive public relations image for the departments within the school and community. Finally, the Athletic Director oversees summer athletic programming and performs other related duties as assigned.
