About The Position

This role involves contributing to development and process improvement efforts on additive hardware, supporting both development and production activities. The position requires setting up and operating various machine tool equipment, including N/C and standard types, as well as manual and CNC machining equipment such as mills, drills, grinders, lathes, and horizontal/vertical bores. A key responsibility is developing 2 and 3-axis N/C processes for development hardware, including machining programs and tooling, as well as 4 and 5-axis N/C processes. The role also includes performing related environmental, health, safety, maintenance, quality, production-flow, and continuous improvement duties to support plant machinery and manufacturing initiatives. Additionally, there are training responsibilities associated with this position.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or a high school diploma/GED from an accredited school or institution
  • Proficient in shop mathematic i.e. geometry and trigonometry

Nice To Haves

  • 4 years manufacturing experience specifically, machining, assembly, machine repair or inspection
  • Machining experience, NC and/or manual
  • NC programming experience (APT, UG, or other structured systems.)
  • Experience in tooling and fixturing, STAS, tooling vendors, Maximo generation.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to development and process improvement efforts on additive hardware with similar support
  • Set up and operation of machine tool equipment (both N/C and standard-types to support development/production activities)
  • Set up and operate a variety of machines performing various machining operations from simple to very complex using both manual and CNC (Computer Numeric Control) machining equipment (including, but not limited to - mills, drills, grinders, lathes, horizontal / vertical bore)
  • Develop 2 and 3-axis N/C processes for development hardware (i.e., machining programs, tooling,)
  • Develop 4 and 5 axis N/C processes
  • Perform related environmental, health, safety, maintenance, quality, production-flow, continuous improvement job duties to support plant machinery, equipment, and manufacturing-related initiatives and programs.
