About The Position

Visiting Angels of Carmel is hiring At Home Caregivers to serve clients throughout Hamilton County and surrounding areas, including Avon, Fishers, Noblesville, Carmel, Westfield, and Indianapolis. Caregivers support clients’ wellness and quality of life in accordance with their individual care plans. Duties may include personal care and hygiene, light exercise and walks, meal planning and preparation, light housekeeping, companionship, medication reminders, mobility assistance, accompanying clients on shopping trips and to appointments or errands, and promptly reporting health changes or unusual incidents. Caregivers must respond responsibly in emergencies. Advanced training opportunities, including dementia and Alzheimer’s care, are available to caregivers who want to broaden their skills.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle for transporting clients.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
First Aid and emergency response training; training is provided if needed.
Excellent time-management skills and ability to juggle multiple duties.
Reliable transportation to and from client homes at scheduled care times.
Physical endurance for tasks such as carrying groceries and physically supporting a client.
Comfort performing housekeeping and cooking duties while following applicable dietary constraints.
Willingness and ability to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards, including a background check.
Compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten clients’ days.

Interest in broadening caregiving skills through advanced training in dementia care and/or Alzheimer’s care.

Responsibilities

Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
Assist clients with light physical exercise or walks.
