About The Position

Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare (TMH) is a private, nonprofit community-based healthcare system that provides advanced care to a 22-county region in North Florida and South Georgia. TMH is the region’s healthcare leader and top provider of advanced care with a 772-bed acute care hospital and the region’s only Level II Trauma Center, Primary Stroke Center, Level III Neonatal Intensive Care, Pediatric Intensive Care, and the most advanced cancer, heart and vascular, orthopedic & surgery programs in the Panhandle. Our system also includes a psychiatric hospital, multiple specialty care centers, six residency programs and more than 50 affiliated physician practices. This senior-level operational leader is responsible for optimizing patient flow, surgical throughput, and operational efficiency across Surgical Services (multiple departments). It leads initiatives to improve case flow, throughput, on-time starts, and turnover efficiency. The role acts as a primary operational contact for surgeons regarding access, throughput, and efficiency concerns. It focuses on process improvement, data-driven decision making, surgeon experience, and patient access. The role develops and presents operational performance data related to throughput, utilization, efficiency, and access. It works in close partnership with clinical leaders, surgeons, anesthesia, and perioperative leaders. The role performs miscellaneous duties and fulfills other responsibilities not expressly described herein.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, operations, or a related field
Five (5) years of progressive healthcare or surgical services operations experience

Nice To Haves

Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA), or Master of Public Health (MPH) degree or a master’s degree in a related field.
Five (5) years in perioperative or surgical services operations experience.
Experience leading teams and driving operational improvement.
Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and/or performance improvement methodologies.
Lean and/or Six Sigma certification(s).
Advanced proficiency in data analysis and dashboard development.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
