About The Position
The Associate will work within Goldman Sachs’ Firmwide Strategy team in the Executive Office, partnering with businesses across the firm and interacting with senior business and firm leadership. The role supports strategic transactions and business initiatives at a global financial firm with multiple market-leading businesses. Responsibilities include supporting strategic M&A and divestments across the deal lifecycle, negotiating and executing strategic investments in fintech and financial services, and developing and executing business plans for new and existing strategic organic initiatives. The position offers exposure to firmwide strategy and may provide pathways to leadership, investing, management, or business strategy roles.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of investment banking, corporate development, or similar experience.
- Strong financial modeling skills and high proficiency in Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence and ability to interact effectively with senior firm leadership.
- Highly organized, with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet competing deadlines.
- Strong knowledge of and interest in the financial services industry.
- Ability to think strategically and analytically, review and synthesize information, and form independent judgments.
- Ability to address critical financial and strategic challenges, perform macroeconomic forecasting, and conduct individual stock analysis.
Responsibilities
- Support strategic M&A and divestments through target identification, due diligence, M&A modeling, and deal management.
- Negotiate and execute strategic investments in the fintech and financial services ecosystem.
- Develop and execute business plans for new and existing strategic organic initiatives for the firm.
