About The Position

Stout’s Valuation Advisory professionals help clients gain confidence by bringing clarity to the most complex valuation matters. As one of the largest independent valuation practices in the country, we provide specialized experience across a broad spectrum of industries. Associates/Vice Presidents in the Machinery & Equipment Valuation practice work on a variety of assignments, including the analysis of personal property, complex property, and special income generating tangible assets.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience providing valuation advisory services for matters involving complex industrial property.
  • 4-year degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or other quantitative discipline.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Foundational understanding of financial theory, economics, accounting principles, and financial statement analysis.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with a genuine interest in industrial property and valuation disputes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; ability to build organized analyses and clearly document workpapers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize findings clearly and professionally.
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, and a willingness to ask thoughtful questions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and respond effectively to feedback.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic, intellectual curiosity, and accountability for work quality.
  • Professional presence and ability to build productive relationships with clients, colleagues and leadership.
  • Work toward ASA accreditation.
  • Familiarity with or interest in using AI tools and technology to improve productivity, research, and analysis.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Perform valuations of tangible assets for litigation support and property tax disputes.
  • Perform field inspections when required as part of a valuation project.
  • Participate in client or management meetings providing substantive input on valuation methodologies, assumptions and conclusions.
  • Support lead experts in developing valuation opinions, evaluating key assumptions and opposing analyses, and preparing for mediation, deposition, arbitration, and trial.
  • Prepare comprehensive deliverables and supporting analysis, including presentations, analysis packets, and written narrative reports.
  • Use AI-enabled tools and emerging technologies to improve research, analysis, and deliverable preparation while following firm standards.
