About The Position

Lefferts Animal Hospital is seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join its growing team. The hospital is an established, progressive, eight-doctor general practice in Richmond Hill, New York, treating companion animals. Its services include preventative care, surgery, emergency and urgent care, high-speed dentistry, surgical CO2 laser, cold laser therapy, in-house diagnostics, digital full-body and dental radiology, ultrasonography, acupuncture, and house calls. Mentoring is available for new graduates, and the practice has no emergency hours. The veterinarian will build relationships with clients and partner with them to deliver high-quality patient care. They will provide individualized care to minimize pets’ stress, anxiety, or discomfort; stay current with veterinary medications, procedures, treatments, protocols, and equipment; collaborate with the hospital team; and help develop the support team. The stated base salary range is $120,000–$175,000, depending on experience, schedule, and clinical skills.

Requirements

Proficiency in general medicine and surgery.
Ability to practice medicine independently.
Doctor of Veterinary degree, or equivalent, from an AVMA-accredited university.
Current DEA License or ability to obtain one upon hire.
Active veterinary state license.
