About The Position

UrgentVet provides after-hours urgent care for canine and feline patients in the Virginia Beach, Virginia area, bridging the gap between daytime general practice and emergency or overnight care. The practice treats common urgent cases such as wounds, ear infections, vomiting and diarrhea, and euthanasia, without additional emergency-clinic fees. This is urgent care only, with no wellness services and no abdominal surgeries. The role works swing/second shifts in a single-doctor-shift model and manages a varying caseload of appointments and surgeries during open hours. The clinics are paperless, modern facilities equipped with cloud-based EMR, digital x-ray, and IDEXX in-house laboratory equipment. The practice emphasizes a Fear Free approach, feline-friendly care, and a strong technical team and support. The schedule is described as flexible. The veterinarian serves patients and clients through relationship-based care, collaborates with the clinical team and leadership, builds relationships in the practice and community, and supports the development of team members through the internal LevelUp training program.
