About The Position

IndeVets has reimagined the associate veterinarian role by offering sustainable career paths with a focus on well-being. As a part-time W-2 veterinarian working 1-3 days per week, you will have control over your schedule, with a dedicated coordinator building your schedule in advance. This allows for predictability in your personal life while you focus on practicing medicine. You will have a guaranteed salary as a foundation, with the option to earn more through additional shifts, which can be paid out or converted to PTO. You will practice in various trusted hospital settings, gaining diverse clinical experience while maintaining the stability of a single employer. We support various interests such as surgery, dentistry, ER, or urgent care, and aim to include these in your schedule when possible. This model eliminates the need for shift searching, schedule rebuilding, and invoicing, offering a structured and sustainable way to practice veterinary medicine.

Requirements

• DVM or VMD from an AVMA-accredited program (or equivalent)
• Active license (or ability to obtain)
• DEA + controlled substance license (as applicable)
• 1+ year of clinical experience in a small animal setting
• Confidence practicing independently
• Strong communication and client relationship skills

Nice To Haves

• GP, ER, or urgent care experience
• Internship training

Responsibilities

• Practice medicine independently with clinical autonomy, focusing on patient care rather than numbers.
• Provide veterinary services across a variety of trusted hospital settings.
• Collaborate with a community of fellow veterinarians and have access to dedicated medical leadership and mentorship.
• Utilize a veterinary social worker for support when needed.
• Engage in ongoing CE and professional development opportunities.
• Potentially include shifts in surgery, dentistry, ER, or urgent care based on interest and availability.
