About The Position

IndeVets is seeking a Full-Time Associate Veterinarian for their practice in Lancaster, SC. This role offers a unique approach to veterinary medicine, prioritizing veterinarian wellbeing by replacing rigid contracts with sustainable career paths. Veterinarians have control over their schedules, guaranteed income, and receive hands-on support and a community of peers. The position involves working 4-5 days per week with a schedule built in advance by a dedicated coordinator, offering clarity and predictability. IndeVets handles scheduling, logistics, and coordination, allowing veterinarians to focus on practicing medicine. A guaranteed salary serves as the foundation, with the option to earn more through additional shifts, which can be paid out or converted to PTO. Veterinarians will practice across a network of trusted hospital partners, gaining diverse clinical experience and building relationships. The role emphasizes clinical autonomy with a focus on patient care, not numbers, and provides dedicated medical leadership, mentorship, and access to a veterinary social worker. Ongoing CE and professional development opportunities are also provided. The model is designed to prevent burnout and offers leadership and mentorship opportunities, exposure to diverse clinical settings, and flexibility to evolve schedules over time.

Requirements

  • DVM or VMD from an AVMA-accredited program (or equivalent)
  • Active license (or ability to obtain)
  • DEA + controlled substance license (as applicable)
  • 1+ year of clinical experience in a small animal setting
  • Confidence practicing independently
  • Strong communication and client relationship skills
