Requirements

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or equivalent) from an AVMA-accredited institution
Active (or eligible for) Georgia veterinary licensure
DEA registration (or eligibility to obtain)
Minimum of 2+ years clinical experience preferred, ideally within a mixed animal setting
Proficiency in surgery and dentistry
Strong clinical decision-making and case management skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Professional and collaborative approach with clients and team members
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds independently and assist with handling larger patients or equipment as needed

Responsibilities

Examine, diagnose, and treat small and large animal patients to determine the nature of disease, injury, or medical condition
Perform routine and advanced medical and surgical procedures appropriate to a mixed animal caseload
Utilize diagnostic equipment, collect and analyze samples, and interpret results to guide treatment plans
Develop and communicate preventative care strategies and treatment recommendations tailored to each case
Prescribe medications and establish comprehensive medical protocols
Provide compassionate client guidance, including complex medical decision-making and end-of-life care when appropriate
Maintain thorough, accurate, and timely medical records
Uphold veterinary ethics, hospital standards, and all applicable regulatory requirements
