Associate Underwriter
About The Position
FCCI Insurance Group is seeking a motivated, well-organized Associate Underwriter to support the acquisition and retention of profitable commercial lines customers in its Gulf Coast Region. The position assists with underwriting new and renewal business, processes transactions within assigned authority, handles endorsement requests, and underwrites less complex renewals within assigned authority and premium thresholds. For candidates located in the Jackson, Mississippi area, the role is hybrid at the Gulf Coast Regional office in Ridgeland, Mississippi, with three days in the office and two days working from home. Otherwise, the position may be performed remotely from within the Gulf Coast territory: Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, or Tennessee.
Responsibilities
- Gather underwriting information for renewal and new business accounts and work with agencies to obtain missing information.
- Approve, modify, or decline transactions, including MVRs, audit changes, and endorsements, within assigned authority.
- Review endorsement requests, gather missing information, approve requests within designated authority, and provide issuance instructions.
- Refer endorsement requests outside designated authority to an underwriter.
- Handle renewal underwriting for less complex accounts based on authority levels and assigned premium thresholds.
- Prepare underwriting file documentation for accounts within authority and support the underwriter with documentation for accounts outside authority.
