About The Position

Brooke Charter Schools is a network of four public charter schools serving grades K-12 in Mattapan, Roslindale, and East Boston. The Associate Teacher Program is a nontraditional pathway that prepares aspiring educators to become lead teachers within one year. Designed to support early-career educators, the program combines intensive coaching, professional development, and hands-on classroom experience to help participants build the skills and confidence needed to become effective teachers. Requirements

  • Earned a bachelor’s degree.
  • Will be able to begin working in person late July 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Provide targeted feedback to support growth in teaching practices through regular observations, coaching conversations, and formal monthly evaluations.
  • Participate in over 300 hours of weekly intensive professional development (PD).
  • Practice skills from targeted professional development and take on more teaching components.
  • Teach full days in their mentor's classroom.
  • Assume the duties of absent classroom teachers.
  • Teach across different grade levels and classrooms.
  • Teach across their K-8th or 9th-12th-grade campus.

  • Significant salary increase of at least $75,000 upon lead-teaching promotion.
