About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking an Associate Systems Engineer Support Analyst (Level 2) to join their team in Berkeley, MO. The ideal candidate is curious, enjoys using data for informed decisions, and can break down complex problems to communicate insights. This role is part of the Operations Analysis team, which delivers customer-focused analysis, modeling, and simulation for military needs across the Department of Defense. Observations from this analysis will inform Boeing Defense investments and drive Phantom Works capture strategy. The Operations Analysis (OA) Team within the Boeing Virtual Warfare Center (VWC) is expanding its Affordability and Value Analysis team. An affordability analyst in this position assesses costs and uncertainty implications of various solution sets, including configuration, force mix, and usage. Studies may involve evaluating cost trends, parametric development, identifying influencing factors, and determining “trade space.” The primary focus is to align analyses and products with diverse customer values and priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, engineering, engineering management, mathematics or similar field
  • 2+ years of experience with affordability and/or cost modeling and analysis
  • Experience using simulation tools and/or computer programming
  • Possess advanced skills with Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to obtain a US Top Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start may be required.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to effectively communicate complex analysis processes and results to others with dissimilar skills and backgrounds
  • Experience in cost modeling (life-cycle, activity-based, should-cost, supply chain, etc.)
  • Experience in uncertainty analysis and quantification utilizing simulation tools
  • Experience in a customer-facing role

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, develop, and verify affordability/life cycle cost models that focus on system of systems and system solutions across their life cycle, including development, production and operations & support
  • Evaluate customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters, determine system costs and assure compatibility of all physical, functional, and program interfaces
  • Integrate with modeling and simulation to create cost effective solutions for various Boeing products
  • Travel may be required up to 10% of the time
