About The Position

Roche Tissue Diagnostics is seeking an Associate Systems Engineer - Software to drive software product definition, including requirements, system architecture design, risk analysis, and solution implementation in accordance with IVD standards. The role supports cancer diagnostics through advanced testing automation and products that include more than 250 cancer tests and associated instruments globally.

The position applies systems engineering throughout the software product lifecycle and collaborates with R&D, Marketing, Operations, Quality, Regulatory, business leaders, and Voice of Customer representatives to align technical solutions with customer needs. It also involves researching industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive products to support software differentiation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Biomedical Sciences, or a related technical field.
• 0–2 years of experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of software integration and testing, including requirements engineering, tradeoff analysis, risk management, configuration management, and verification and validation.
• Experience in a regulated environment and familiarity with FDA, ISO, and other relevant diagnostic product standards.
• Interest in innovative technologies and understanding of the in vitro diagnostic (IVD) competitive landscape.

Responsibilities

• Apply systems engineering to software product definition, requirements, risk analysis, and testing.
• Manage software requirements, risk analysis, configuration, defect management, and verification and validation.
• Research industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive products to support software differentiation.
• Collaborate with R&D, Marketing, Operations, Quality, and Regulatory teams to ensure alignment.
• Engage with business leaders and Voice of Customer representatives to align technical solutions with customer needs.
• Analyze complex technical challenges, present solutions, and facilitate informed decision-making.
