About The Position

The Associate, Strategy & Value Creation provides hands-on analytical support across Worldwide Golf, Big 5 Sporting Goods, and enterprise-wide priorities. This cross-functional role spans strategy, operations, merchandising, supply chain, and marketing, translating data into practical decisions, tools, and process improvements. The Associate builds analyses, dashboards, and decision rules; investigates operational problems to identify root causes; and helps carry recommendations through implementation. The role is suited to an analytically strong, early-career candidate who is curious, self-directed, comfortable working with imperfect data, and interested in owning workstreams end-to-end in a lean, entrepreneurial environment. The position is based at Worldwide Golf Headquarters in Santa Ana, California, with periodic travel to Big 5 offices, distribution centers, and stores. It reports to the Director of Strategy and works closely with leaders across both companies, including the CFO, Chief Strategy Officer, CEO, and other senior executives. The Associate will analyze store, distribution center, and inventory data; develop and maintain KPI dashboards and reporting; support merchandising, e-commerce, and customer analytics; track enterprise value-creation initiatives; and help identify and implement AI-enabled tools and process automation. The role also responds to fast-turn requests from senior leaders and communicates findings and recommendations clearly for executive decision-making. The role offers broad exposure to strategy, operations, merchandising, and supply chain across two retail businesses, with ownership from day one, competitive compensation, benefits, paid time off, and opportunities for growth. The base salary range is $80,000–$110,000 per year, and the position is bonus eligible.
