About The Position

Alamar is seeking a highly motivated Associate Scientist II to join its Technology Access team. The position supports development, optimization, characterization, and execution of NULISA-based immunoassays and multiplex proteomic panels across diverse disease areas, from early feasibility through customer sample testing in the Technology Access Program. The role calls for hands-on immunoassay execution, data analysis, and careful organization and traceability of complex experiments involving many reagents and samples, while delivering reliable data on tight timelines.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Immunology, Neuroscience, Biochemistry, or a related discipline, with at least 1 year of industrial immunoassay development experience; a B.S. degree with at least 3 years of experience may also be considered.
  • Hands-on experience executing and optimizing immunoassays such as ELISA.
  • Strong understanding of proteomics and biomarker research.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Knowledge of emerging reagents, immunoassay technologies, biomarker discovery, assay prototyping, performance optimization, and control system design.
  • Ability to disseminate and summarize scientific literature for a broad interdisciplinary audience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with high-sensitivity platforms such as Simoa, MSD, or Luminex.
  • Hands-on experience generating and analyzing PCR and NGS sequencing datasets; highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize multiplex proteomic panels, including NULISAseq and custom biopharma panels, for biomarker discovery, validation, and translational research.
  • Design, conduct, and analyze single-plex NULISA immunoassays across diverse biological matrices, optimizing sensitivity, specificity, and detectability.
  • Characterize assay performance, including calibration curves, LLOQ, precision, dilution linearity, spike recovery, and parallelism.
  • Manage reagent inventory, lot tracking, aliquoting, storage, and stability for panels with up to thousands of components, coordinating with Manufacturing and R&D.
  • Analyze PCR and NGS datasets, prepare reports, and present results to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues through root-cause analysis across reagent, instrument, sample, and operator factors.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver projects on time and contribute to strategic discussions.
  • Explore new NULISA applications, cultivate KOL collaborations, and prepare abstracts and posters for scientific conferences.
