About The Position

Strand Therapeutics is seeking a highly motivated and innovative Associate Scientist II to support its Analytical Development & Operations team. The role supports analytical development and testing as an analyst for screening, optimization, and scale-up efforts. The Associate Scientist II will report initially to the Principal Scientist of Analytical Development and work closely with the founding team and other members of Strand during the company’s initial growth stage. Strand Therapeutics is a clinical-stage biotechnology company developing programmable mRNA therapeutics. The company’s pipeline initially focuses on oncology and autoimmune disease, and its Signal Stack platform combines circular RNA, self-replicating RNA, targeted delivery, and genetic circuits. Strand is headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts.

Requirements

B.S. or advanced degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
Working experience in analytical development operations pertaining to biologics.
Prior experience with LNPs containing nucleic acid payloads.
Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask and prioritize to meet important deadlines.

Nice To Haves

Experience with analytical methods such as cell-based assays, ELISA, RT-PCR, and/or LC-MS.
Familiarity working with a Process Development team.

Responsibilities

Analyze internally and externally submitted samples using analytical methods such as cell-based assays, ELISA, RT-PCR, and LC-MS.
Support development of analytical methods and novel analytical techniques, with a focus on deep physical characterization of early- and clinical-stage mRNA and LNP formulations.
Use statistical tools to analyze data and independently draw conclusions.
Provide analytical support for screening, optimization, and scale-up efforts in mRNA and LNP Process Development.
