About The Position

Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s Associate Sales Engineering (ASE) Program is a 48-week, hands-on program for people beginning careers in technical sales. Based in Durham, North Carolina, the program develops foundational networking knowledge and pre-sales capabilities through training, labs, demonstrations, mentoring, and customer engagement. Participants work alongside experienced Sales Engineers, learn to understand customer requirements and business priorities, and apply HPE Networking solutions. The role covers both Juniper Networks and HPE Aruba Networking technologies, with opportunities to pursue certifications across both portfolios. Participants hired into the Durham cohort must relocate to Durham with HPE-sponsored relocation support, in accordance with company policy. Successful completion requires continued willingness to relocate to an available Sales Engineer position identified by HPE Networking field leadership; that position may be anywhere in the United States, and relocation is a condition of continued participation. The role is designated onsite, with an expectation of primarily working from an HPE office. Participants are hired as Sales Engineer Level 1, with compensation based on the applicable Durham-based Associate Sales Engineer band. After completing the program, participants are encouraged to apply for posted Sales Engineer Level 2 or higher opportunities. Advancement may occur as experience, technical expertise, and responsibilities increase.
