About The Position

The Associate Sales Engineering (ASE) Program is a 48-week early-career program that provides hands-on experience and development in technical sales. Participants work alongside experienced Sales Engineers and other team members, learning to understand customer requirements, networking and security constraints, and business priorities, and to apply HPE Networking solutions. The program develops foundational networking knowledge and pre-sales capabilities, with opportunities to contribute across the Sales Engineering organization and pursue certifications across Juniper and Aruba technology portfolios. The program includes foundational training across Juniper and Aruba technology portfolios during the first 12 weeks, new-hire training, weekly hands-on labs and demonstration practice, biweekly mentoring, HPE Tech Jam, guest speakers, third-party pre-sales coaching through Mastering Technical Sales, and participation in Sales Kick-Off activities. The role is onsite, with the expectation that the employee will primarily work from an HPE office. ASEs hired into the Houston cohort must relocate to Houston, Texas, with HPE-sponsored relocation support under company policy. After completing the program, continued participation requires willingness to relocate to an available Sales Engineer position identified by HPE Networking field leadership, which may be anywhere in the United States; that location is not guaranteed to be Houston. The role is hired at Sales Engineer Level 1, with compensation based on the applicable Houston-based Associate Sales Engineer band. After program completion, participants are encouraged to pursue posted Sales Engineer Level 2 or higher opportunities. Advancement may occur as experience, technical expertise, and responsibility increase. The stated Texas hourly base salary range is USD 27.64–62.50; variable incentives may also be offered.
