About The Position

Performance Contracting is seeking a motivated Associate Project Engineer for its Chicago 573 branch operations based in Lake Zurich, Illinois. The role is described as a launching pad for future leaders at PCI, providing hands-on experience in project management and estimating, with opportunities for professional growth and career advancement. The position is safety-sensitive and is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Construction Science, or comparable work experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products, such as Excel and Word.
• Clear understanding of how to read and interpret specifications and drawings.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to learn new skills by engaging in technical job functions and applying new skills as they are taught.
• Strong customer service skills and relationship-building abilities.
• Critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multitask.
• Motivated self-starter with a strong work ethic and willingness to take initiative.
• Ability to work well under pressure and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct safety meetings.
• Create and manage punch lists.
• Support the Quality Control Measures outlined in PCI’s QA/QC program.
• Prepare RFIs and submittals.
• Control labor on assigned projects, including setup and maintenance.
• Perform quantitative takeoffs for material ordering.
• Support implementation of the job schedule.
• Coordinate warranties and O&M’s.
• Coordinate materials, purchase orders, and invoicing.
