About The Position

The Department of Philosophy in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Miami invites applications for a full-time, tenure-eligible faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, beginning August 2027. The Area of Specialization is Philosophy and Artificial Intelligence, and the Area of Competence is open. The department seeks an established scholar who will pursue a vigorous research program commensurate with an AAU institution, teach at the graduate and undergraduate levels, and participate fully in the department’s normal activities. Candidates approaching artificial intelligence from a variety of philosophical subfields are welcome, and candidates working in more than one area of specialization are especially encouraged to apply.

A Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in philosophy or a closely related field is required by the appointment start date. Priority will be given to applications received by December 15.
