About The Position

The College of Nursing and Health Sciences (CONHS) at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi (TAMUCC) invites applications for a tenure-track Associate Professor of Nursing Practice beginning Fall 2027. This is a 9-month academic appointment with a possible summer appointment and will be located at the Corpus Christi campus. Faculty members are required to be physically on campus as needed to contribute to academic mission of the College and University. All tenure and tenure-track positions will have responsibilities in research, teaching, and service missions. Tenured/tenure-track faculty are expected to teach students, pursue a robust program of research, seek external funding, and disseminate research findings. Faculty are expected to model exemplar professional behavior through work with students, peers, administration, and community colleagues and to provide student support to include mentoring, advising, recruiting, and DNP student project supervision. Teaching responsibilities ensures adherence to program policies, course objectives, program outcomes and current teaching, clinical, and simulation best practices and safety measures. All faculty are expected to maintain content and clinical mastery, and to participate in college, university and professional service activities. Active participation in college and university committees and activities is required. The faculty members will maintain an active program of scholarship and disseminate scholarly work through peer-reviewed publications, presentations, and other appropriate venues. Requirements

  • Hold a research focused PhD in Nursing from an accredited institution
  • Current unencumbered RN and/or APRN License in the State of Texas by the time of appointment
  • An established program of research and scholarship with a record of successful funding
  • Experience in higher education including classroom and/or clinical teaching
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience at the Assistant Professor or comparable rank

  • Experience in teaching and developing nursing leadership and management courses
  • Records of professional service at local or national levels
  • Teaching experience at the graduate level
  • Experience with web-based course delivery, including on-line course development, online teaching, and application of best practices in online education
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across disciplines and with community practice partners
