The Marsal Family School of Education at the University of Michigan is seeking a mid-career colleague for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of associate professor in Educational Studies, focusing on science teaching and/or the learning sciences. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in science education, with an emphasis on community-engaged and/or place-based education, a deep understanding of scientific cultures and practices, and expertise in science education and the learning sciences. The role involves contributing to science teaching and learning in a diverse society with inequitably resourced schools and unequal opportunities for children. A track record of securing external funding for scholarly work is expected. Successful candidates may have diverse interests, such as designing learning environments for social justice issues, partnering with community groups on urban issues, examining how contexts shape science learning opportunities, or focusing on the intersection of science education, policy, and reform.
