About The Position

This role provides engineering support under general direction, assisting management and engineering in specifying, developing, justifying, documenting, implementing, and sustaining industrial processes, equipment, and materials. The position focuses on improving process efficiency and capacity in accordance with strategic objectives, investigating and recommending solutions to manufacturing challenges, and developing/conducting experiments to identify root causes of problems. The Associate Process Engineer will also evaluate process capabilities and validate new equipment, while adhering to SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles. The company culture encourages understanding, creation, and simplification. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Industrial, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Working knowledge in statistics
  • Working knowledge in project management tools and disciplines
  • Ability to train technical and non-technical staff
  • Effective writing, documentation, and speaking skills
  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
  • Background check results satisfactory to SEL
  • Negative drug test result(s)

Nice To Haves

  • Two years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency applying the principles of Lean, Six Sigma, Theory of Constraints, and World Class
  • Ability to lead a cross functional team
  • Project management experience
