The work we do takes a village - and in an environment that moves fast, we embrace the adventure together. You'll own the operational layer that keeps our platform healthy and our engineers moving. That means monitoring and improving our AWS environment - costs, security groups, IAM hygiene, ECS auto-scaling, RDS utilization - and building the observability and on-call infrastructure that makes sure the right people get paged when something breaks. This isn't passive work. You'll be building things, improving things, and leaving systems better than you found them. Our platform team is small and intentional - a Staff Platform Engineer and a Senior Platform Engineer doing serious infrastructure work. You'll work directly alongside Scott and Yury, owning operational problems from day one while learning from two of the strongest platform engineers in the land. The work you take on gives them the space to move faster on bigger platform initiatives, and the things you build become foundational to how equipifi scales.

Requirements

1-3 years of experience in IT operations, systems administration, Linux administration, or a related field.
Comfortable in AWS, understanding how core services fit together, and proactive in investigating issues.
Experience with or understanding of observability tools (e.g., Datadog) and building useful monitoring.
Experience with on-call rotations or readiness to participate.
Understanding of security best practices, including IAM policies, security groups, and least-privilege access.
Instinct to automate manual processes.
Ability to get things done, be organized, and reliable.
Hunger to grow and learn in platform engineering.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain our on-call rotation, ensuring monitoring is in place, alerts are firing at the right priority levels, and the right engineer gets paged when something breaks.
Respond to incidents quickly, document root causes, and ensure recurring issues are addressed.
Own the day-to-day hygiene of our AWS environment, including monitoring costs, rightsizing resources, cleaning up unused IAM roles, defining permissions, tuning ECS auto-scaling policies, and managing RDS database utilization.
Manage provisioning and support internal tooling and dev environments for the engineering team.
Identify and reduce friction in IT operations through automation.
Support SOC 2 compliance efforts by gathering evidence, taking screenshots, and keeping documentation current.
