About The Position

Wells Fargo is seeking an Associate Personal Banker (SAFE) for its National Branch. This frontline role builds customer relationships through in-branch interactions, scheduled conversations, and proactive outreach. The banker learns about customers’ financial goals and connects them with appropriate banking products, services, and digital tools. The position supports account openings, service requests, and credit applications while working with branch teammates to provide a consistent, high-quality customer experience. Success requires relationship-building skills, sound judgment, and balancing customer service with growth. Wells Fargo provides training and coaching to support career development and mobility. The position is based at Foothill Square, 10700 MacArthur Blvd, Oakland, California. The schedule includes Saturdays, and work flexes between cash handling and customer banking activities, with an emphasis on account openings and ongoing account support. SAFE registration is required at employment; Wells Fargo initiates the process after the start date. The role is not eligible for visa sponsorship. The base pay range is $23.00–$31.00, with possible incentive opportunities.

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience interacting with customers, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, education, or a combination.
Ability to work a schedule that includes Saturdays.
SAFE registration is required at the time of employment; Wells Fargo will initiate the process after the start date.
Loan Originators must meet LO/CFPB requirements and comply with Wells Fargo policies, including standards related to financial responsibility, character, fitness, and criminal background.
A credit report may be reviewed, excluding credit score, and additional ongoing screening may apply.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in financial services or a highly regulated, customer-facing role, with comfort following structured processes and meeting accuracy and service expectations.

Responsibilities

Identify opportunities, promote solutions, and make appropriate referrals to support customer and business goals.
Support everyday banking needs, including new account openings, service requests, and credit applications.
Handle cash and perform teller-line activities, accurately processing transactions while maintaining compliance and operational standards.
Use and adopt digital tools and technologies to enhance the customer experience and support evolving banking needs.
Deliver accurate, compliant service and exercise sound judgment within defined risk controls.
Collaborate with branch teammates to coordinate handoffs to licensed bankers or other specialists.
Flex between cash-handling and customer-banking activities, supporting account openings and ongoing account needs.
Follow applicable risk and compliance programs and policies, escalate and remediate issues, and make sound risk decisions.
