About The Position

This entry-level role at Textron Systems supports manufacturing engineering for marine programs. The Associate Manufacturing Engineer collaborates with Engineering on production tooling and build-plan methodology, assesses component and assembly manufacturability, and develops manufacturing processes, tooling approaches, operations, and time standards. The role creates and maintains shop-floor process plans and work instructions, supports production performance analysis and improvement, and develops manufacturing bills of material to enable material planning and production scheduling. It also provides technical guidance on root cause and corrective action for production issues, interprets engineering and manufacturing documentation, initiates engineering change requests, and ensures compliance with applicable regulations. The position includes hands-on experience, mentorship, and development opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Ability to interact effectively and efficiently with peers, supervisors, customers, and management, both internally and externally.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple priorities efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Engineering on production tooling and build-plan methodology, and provide input on associated design criteria.
  • Analyze engineering designs to determine the manufacturability of components and assemblies.
  • Guide and determine manufacturing processes, tooling methodology, discrete manufacturing operations, and time standards for new parts and assemblies, from detail component fabrication through job-level installation.
  • Author and maintain process plans for shop-floor methods and work instructions.
  • Develop learning-curve and actual-hour projections for incorporating new programs into production; analyze actual performance and recommend process improvements.
  • Oversee creation of the manufacturing Bill of Material (MBOM), translating engineering product structure into a logical manufacturing methodology and sequence to enable MRP order release, scheduling, and purchased-component sourcing.
  • Provide technical guidance to initiate and drive Root Cause / Corrective Action (RCCA) for production issues related to engineering design, material, tooling, specifications, and processes.
  • Analyze and interpret engineering drawings, manufacturing operation sequences, tooling functions, and process specifications; issue engineering change requests (ECR).
