About The Position

Simon & Schuster’s Corporate Marketing division is seeking an Associate Manager, Social Media & Audience Growth to help bring our books, authors, and stories to readers through engaging social content, community building, and audience development. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Social Media & Audience Growth, this role is an integral member of Simon & Schuster's Social Media & Audience Growth team, supporting the day-to-day management of our corporate social channels while helping create compelling content, foster reader communities, and identify new opportunities for book discovery. Requirements

  • 2–4 years of experience in social media, digital marketing, communications, or content marketing.
  • Experience managing social media accounts for a brand, publisher, agency, or media company.
  • Strong writing, editing, and copywriting skills.
  • Experience creating social-first content, including photography, graphics, and short-form video.
  • Familiarity with social publishing and analytics platforms such as Sprout Social, Airtable, Meta Business Suite, or similar tools.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with strong attention to detail.
  • A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for experimenting with new ideas.
  • A passion for books, publishing, internet culture, and connecting readers to stories.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day strategy and execution for several of Simon & Schuster's corporate social platforms, including LinkedIn, X, Pinterest, BlueSky, and Instagram Broadcast Channels and Facebook Groups, while supporting broader publishing efforts across the team.
  • Plan, write, publish, and optimize daily social content.
  • Maintain editorial calendars through Airtable and Sprout Social.
  • Monitor platform performance and identify opportunities to improve engagement.
  • Stay current on platform features, trends, and best practices.
  • Cultivate an engaged, welcoming, and thoughtful online community by monitoring and responding to comments, direct messages, and audience questions across Simon & Schuster's corporate social channels.
  • Identify opportunities to deepen reader engagement and encourage conversation.
  • Escalate customer service or sensitive issues to the appropriate internal teams when necessary.
  • Share audience feedback and recurring themes with the broader Social Media & Audience Growth team.
  • Help readers discover books across Simon & Schuster's publishing program by identifying opportunities to amplify frontlist and backlist titles.
  • Support corporate campaigns that extend imprint and author marketing initiatives.
  • Gather and organize marketing assets from imprints and authors.
  • Contribute creative ideas that connect books to cultural moments and reader interests.
  • Create and produce content across corporate channels, including graphics, photography, short-form video, and written social content.
  • Assist with content capture at author events, consumer festivals, book launches, and other company initiatives.
  • Support content production alongside the Video Production and Design teams.
  • Experiment with new formats, trends, and storytelling techniques.
  • Grow Simon & Schuster's online community by monitoring audience behavior and engagement trends.
  • Support editorial programming that encourages conversation and book discovery.
  • Assist with performance reporting and audience insights.
  • Help identify opportunities to participate in relevant cultural conversations.
  • Strengthen both internal marketing community and external relationships by maintaining the Corporate Social Wiki and platform best practice guides.
  • Develop educational resources for authors, imprints, and internal stakeholders.
  • Assist the Senior Manager, Multicultural Marketing with influencer, partnership, and book club outreach.
  • Support the Social Media All Hands meeting through research, documentation, and presentation materials.
  • Monitor performance across platforms.
  • Share audience insights and emerging trends with the team.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve workflows and content performance.
  • Continuously learn about new platforms, tools, and technologies that strengthen the social media presence.
