About The Position

Under direct supervision, provides accurate and timely solutions to end-user computer and networking problems. Performs restorative and maintenance actions either remotely or at the end user’s location to resolve problems, using basic troubleshooting and technical skills. Responds to situations where standard procedures have failed in isolating or fixing problem equipment, software installations, or configuration changes. This position participates in a group 24 hours a day 7 days a week, 365 days a year on-call rotation where each member of the group takes call for 1 week at a time.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Information Technology or related field of study - OR - High School diploma plus 2 years of experience in IT support functions or IT technical-related experience.
  • Required to be on-call and to respond immediately to trouble calls outside of general work hours.
  • Work occasionally may require in excess of eight hours per day.
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field of study.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Certifications: A+, Network+, MCP, CCNA
  • Rotating weekend and holiday coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Install, program, and commission electronic control systems, which may include door access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, communication, structured cabling, cable management, electronic locks, Wi-Fi locks, network switches, point sensors, signaling devices, and associated hardware.
  • Troubleshoot and repair problems with equipment, software, or configuration and return systems to full functionality.
  • Provide end-user support and assistance with badge access, video surveillance, electronic control systems, and other network system components.
  • Documents work in progress and solutions to trouble calls using call tracking software.
  • Provides the manager with daily status reports of ongoing projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
