About The Position

This full-time exempt position is responsible for teaching courses related to Computer Information Technology. This position is responsible for individualized instruction in all phases of the Computer Information Technology program and administration of the College’s computer networks. Other duties include coordinating curriculum updates, student record keeping, industry and student recruitment, placement and follow-up of program graduates and program budgeting.

Requirements

  • Technical diploma in instructional area or equivalent higher education with credentials in related field. Equivalent relevant full-time experience in the field may be considered in lieu of education.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in the Computer Information Technology field within the last five years.
  • Must possess a high degree of knowledge in network administration, PC hardware, systems analysis and software.
  • Must possess the organizational and communications skills necessary to be an effective teacher and to interact with high school and adult students.
  • Knowledge of college policies, procedures, and practices
  • Knowledge of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), Title VII, Title IX, ADA and other applicable laws pertaining to employment and education
  • Ability to plan, organize and implement assigned responsibilities and to work well under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and planning skills
  • Ability to participate as a team member
  • Ability to understand and interpret rules and regulations, and ability to adjust to change
  • Ability to handle confidential material judiciously
  • Understanding of education programs and resources related to technical colleges.

Nice To Haves

  • CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+ certifications and Microsoft certifications preferred.
  • Associate degree preferred. Post-secondary diploma or A.A.S. in computer information or related field.
  • Prior teaching or evidence of ability to teach students is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the installation of the local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and Email and Internet systems.
  • Maintains and upgrades software and computer equipment.
  • Investigates and resolves computer software and hardware problems of users.
  • Installs and performs repairs to hardware, software, and peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications.
  • Answers staff and customer’s inquiries in person and via telephone concerning the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, word-processing, email, Internet and operating systems.
  • Provides technical assistance and training to systems users.
  • Serve on college committees and represent the college at community events.
  • Performs related work and other duties as assigned.
