Associate Immigration Attorney - Removal Defense
About The Position
Konare Law is a removal defense law firm representing noncitizens in complex, high-pressure immigration removal defense proceedings. The Associate Immigration Attorney will handle an individual docket of removal defense cases from day one, supported by mentorship, firm infrastructure, and appellate resources. The role is partner-track and intended for an attorney interested in a long-term leadership path and in helping grow the firm’s removal defense practice. The attorney will provide courtroom advocacy and legal analysis in removal proceedings and is expected to contribute to firm growth over time by cultivating referral relationships, increasing the firm’s visibility, and helping shape the strategic direction of its removal defense litigation practice. Konare Law focuses exclusively on immigration removal and deportation defense.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Active membership in good standing with a U.S. state bar.
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in immigration removal defense, EOIR proceedings, or BIA appeals.
- Demonstrated courtroom or hearing experience in immigration removal court (EOIR), before Immigration Judges (IJ), the BIA, or federal court on removal defense matters.
- Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills in removal defense contexts.
- Personal or professional commitment to serving immigrant communities facing removal proceedings.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and interest in growing with the firm.
Responsibilities
- Manage an individual docket of immigration removal defense cases.
- Provide courtroom advocacy and legal analysis in removal defense proceedings.
- Represent clients in immigration removal matters, including EOIR proceedings and appeals.
- Cultivate referral relationships as the practice grows.
- Contribute to the firm’s visibility and strategic direction within its removal defense litigation practice.
