Associate Immigration Attorney - Removal Defense
About The Position
Konare Law is a removal defense law firm representing noncitizens in complex immigration removal defense proceedings. The Associate Immigration Attorney will handle an independent docket of removal defense cases from the start, with mentorship, firm infrastructure, and appellate support. This is a partner-track litigation role focused exclusively on immigration removal and deportation defense. The attorney will be expected to develop referral relationships, contribute to the firm’s visibility, and help shape the strategic direction of its removal defense practice. The position offers a pathway to equity partnership for attorneys who demonstrate legal excellence and leadership in firm development.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Active membership in good standing with a U.S. state bar.
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in immigration removal defense, EOIR proceedings, or BIA appeals.
- Demonstrated courtroom or hearing experience in immigration removal court (EOIR), before Immigration Judges (IJ), the BIA, or federal court on removal defense matters.
- Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills in removal defense contexts.
- A personal or professional commitment to serving immigrant communities facing removal proceedings.
- An entrepreneurial mindset and readiness to grow with the firm.
Responsibilities

- Cultivate referral relationships.
