Associate II

Stress Engineering Services•Mason, OH

About The Position

The Associate II contributes to engineering consulting projects across the medical device, consumer product, and oil and gas industries. The role develops and validates finite element models for structural, thermal, multiphysics, fatigue, and creep analysis, and performs computational analyses for products and equipment such as surgical tools, pressure vessels, piping systems, and consumer goods. It also supports failure analysis, remediation, product development, reliability evaluation, fixed-equipment assessment, and field investigations. The position develops automated simulation workflows, solver subroutines, and surrogate models, and applies verification, validation, and uncertainty quantification to computational models. The Associate II prepares proposals, presentations, and technical reports; communicates with clients; manages projects; and works with cross-functional teams to deliver engineering solutions. Domestic travel to client worksites for meetings is 5% or less.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
  • At least five years of experience as an Advanced Simulation Engineer, Modeling and Simulation Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Design Engineer, Computational Analyst, or in a related position requiring knowledge and practice related to hydraulic fracturing and associated field services.
  • Five years of experience must include computational modeling and simulation, including nonlinear implicit/explicit FEA involving complex contacts and impact, and thermal and multiphysics analysis using tools such as Abaqus, Ansys, and/or LS-DYNA.
  • Experience using Python or MATLAB for scripting and automation, and Fortran or C for subroutine development.
  • Experience modeling polymers and biological tissues, including hyperelasticity, viscoelasticity, creep, and damage behavior.
  • Experience with ASME BPVC, API 579, and other relevant engineering codes.
  • Experience in advanced computational modeling, simulation, and analysis in medical devices, consumer products, or oil and gas.
  • Experience using finite element analysis and scripting tools.
  • Experience with fitness-for-service assessment of pressure equipment.
