About The Position

This position supports the General Counsel in ensuring the proper performance and day-to-day implementation of legal activities of the company, with a particular focus on contracts and compliance functions.

Requirements

JD from accredited law school, and a current license to practice law in assigned work state.
At least 3 years’ legal experience, preferably in a law firm setting.
Experience in negotiating commercial and government contracts, including a demonstrated knowledge of high-value complex commercial and government (FAR) contracting practices/procedures.
Knowledge, familiarity, and appreciation of the importance of compliance functions in a heavily regulated industry.
Familiarity with administering corporate governance structures.
Demonstrated capacity for sound legal analysis, legal reasoning, problem solving, and legal research and writing skills.
Experience with administrative law, government/legislative affairs, and/or litigation.
Ability to serve as a partner with key stakeholders and collaborate across various teams to achieve goals.

Responsibilities

Provide general legal support and advice to X-energy, with a focus on the contracts and procurement group.
Analyze significant, and/or unique/non-standard contract requirements, special provisions, terms, and conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, and federal policies.
Manage the day-to-day activities/implementation of X-energy’s compliance program.
Work with the General Counsel to develop and implement the company’s legal strategic plan.
Assist the General Counsel in implementation of corporate governance best practices.
Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
