About The Position

ICE Mortgage Technology (IMT) develops and maintains technology platforms supporting the modern mortgage lifecycle, from origination through servicing. The Associate Full Stack Developer will contribute to building and modernizing applications at the core of the mortgage servicing platform. The role involves developing well-defined features and components under the guidance of senior engineers while helping transition legacy systems to modern, scalable architecture. The developer will work in an AI-forward engineering culture where AI tools are expected to support code creation, review, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting. The role also involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, following engineering standards, and continuing to develop knowledge of relevant technologies and AI/LLM capabilities.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
At least 1 year of professional software development experience or equivalent experience.
Foundational knowledge of Java and Spring Boot.
Experience with React, JavaScript (ES6+), and/or TypeScript.
Experience with SQL and relational database concepts.
Understanding of web application and API security principles.
Experience with version control systems such as Git.
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Comfort using AI as a daily tool across the software development lifecycle, from design through testing and deployment.

Nice To Haves

Exposure to PostgreSQL.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines such as Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
Knowledge of containerization concepts such as Docker.
Familiarity with microservices architecture.
Experience with automated testing frameworks.
Understanding of responsive design and accessibility standards.
Knowledge of performance optimization techniques.
Familiarity with effective AI prompting and understanding AI’s strengths and limitations in a development context.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain full-stack features using React on the frontend and Java/Spring Boot microservices on the backend, under the guidance of senior engineers.
Maintain existing C#/.NET applications and MS SQL databases, and assist with migration efforts to Java/Spring Boot and PostgreSQL.
Write and maintain PostgreSQL queries and assist with schema work to support application performance and data integrity.
Create and maintain RESTful APIs, adhere to data governance policies and procedures, and integrate APIs with React-based frontends.
Implement new features and enhancements to existing functionality in accordance with defined standards and through peer collaboration.
Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices and team standards.
Use AI as a core development tool to accelerate workflows, including code generation, documentation, and code review assistance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues in backend and frontend systems, using AI-assisted tools where appropriate.
Participate in code reviews by providing and receiving constructive feedback.
Write and maintain unit tests, including AI-assisted test generation and coverage analysis.
Stay current with relevant technologies, frameworks, and emerging AI/LLM capabilities relevant to the technology stack.
