About The Position

The Associate Director, Rare Disease Thought Leader Liaison, is a field-based, non-sales position on Regeneron’s commercial rare disease team, focused on enhancing and improving interactions with key external US rare disease thought leaders at academic centers and leading community practices. The primary areas of focus include thought leader engagement, advocacy development, conference management, serving as a liaison for the speakers, and partnering with marketing. All Thought Leaders Liaison (TLL) interactions are always within label and consistent with commercial compliance, legal and regulatory guidelines. TLLs will report to the Senior Director, Franchise Marketing Head, Rare Disease & Cardiometabolic Commercial Business Unit. The AD TLL will work closely with cross-functional leaders from Marketing, Medical Affairs, Sales, Market Access and the Rare Disease Leadership Team to ensure alignment with the overall strategy and tactical execution. The attributes that are critical for success include leadership, collaboration, communication, critical thinking, and the ability to drive key initiatives and provide timely feedback.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree where an advanced degree is preferred
  • Specialty pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical experience
  • Minimum of 7 years of work experience in one or more of the following: previous or current Thought Leader Liaison role, field sales, product marketing, or medical / clinical experience including experience in the rare disease market
  • Previous launch experience
  • Field based role expected to cover the nation with travel as high as 80% to engage key sites and thought leaders regularly

Responsibilities

  • Develop resources as they relate to assigned key thought leaders via collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Conduct substantive business discussions related to on-label product information, disease state, and general corporate overviews, to drive advocacy for Rare Disease commercial products
  • Act as a coordinated, single point of contact to resolve issues between the thought leader and his / her institution and the Regeneron and Rare Disease team
  • Assist with on-label in-person key thought leader development and drive thought leader advocacy with approved decks and materials
  • In a complaint manner, plan and implement thought leader engagements and senior executive encounters at local, regional and national conferences, plant of action meetings, in field engagements, and other venues
  • Assist with pull-through of advisory boards with key opinion leaders
  • Help ensure the brand is represented at the appropriate levels at the relevant conferences
  • Communicate with sales partners on conference presence and support a regional conference strategy
  • Coordinate key opinion leader engagements at congresses with appropriate partners, including marketing, alliance, sales, and field medical
  • Become a key point of contact for certain speaker logistic / scheduling activities and work cross functionally to ensure appropriate communication
  • Help pull through contracting and training needs with speakers
  • Provide speaker recommendations for marketing and sales when requested
  • Partner with sales on speaker scheduling and coordination when needed
  • Obtain feedback from thought leaders and partner with marketing on brand-related initiatives
  • Synthesize and communicate key insights and themes to marketing and senior leadership to help refine strategies and tactics to drive brand objectives
  • Provide KOL recommendations for marketing on key projects and tactics
  • Helping to elevate Regeneron’s presence as a Rare Disease company to our customers
  • Collaborate, support, and communicate with aligned sales regions
  • Follow and be knowledgeable of all relevant laws, regulations and corporate policies governing all TLL activities
