About The Position

Clorox is seeking a strategic and results-driven Licensing/Partnership Associate Director to lead TM licensing and partnership initiatives within the Office of Strategic Alliances. This role is pivotal to delivering 5-10% annual incremental profit growth while bringing the Clorox’s strong portfolio of brand’s to life through licensed products and partnerships. The Associate Director will manage high-value partner relationships and ensure execution aligns with brand strategy, commercialization plans, and long-term financial goals. This individual will also lead new partner development from white space identification through contract closure, including business case creation, strategic outreach, term negotiation, and internal alignment. Success in this role requires strong financial acumen, contract expertise, and the ability to influence across senior stakeholders internally and externally. The ideal candidate combines strategic vision with operational rigor and is motivated by delivering measurable enterprise value.

Requirements

  • College degree required; MBA or other graduate degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in licensing, strategic partnerships, or business development.
  • Experience in brand management/marketing, sales, and/or innovation (CPG preferred) with consumer first mindset
  • Strong understanding of brand equity frameworks and how to apply them to new-to-brand categories
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Demonstrated experience redlining and negotiating contract terms with Legal and potential partners
  • Excellent analytical skills with experience in due diligence and compliance.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • High level of initiative and productivity with ability to work independently
  • Track record of delivering measurable business growth through partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Strategic Growth: Lead the development of new licensing partnerships that contribute 5–10% annual incremental profit growth, supporting Clorox business unit goals and Office of Alliances financial objectives.
  • Internal influence and Alignment: Develop and secure senior alignment to new strategic adjacencies and partnerships including where to play and partner selection
  • Strategic Selling: Prospect and pitch aligned partners; develop sell-in narratives supported by brand and category insights.
  • Deal Execution: Manage deal process from term sheet development through signing to deliver 2-3+ new licensing deals annually.
  • Partner Development & Management: Cultivate and manage relationships with current licensees, ensuring alignment with brand strategy and long-term business plans.
  • Due Diligence: Conduct comprehensive assessments of potential partners, including quality, safety, regulatory compliance, financial health, raw material sourcing, and manufacturing standards.
  • Negotiation & Contracting: Lead negotiations of financial and operational terms to finalize legal agreements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build strong working relationships and orchestrate cross-functional alignment across Marketing, R&D, Global Stewardship, Legal, and Finance to ensure seamless execution and long-term partner success.
  • Communication & Problem Solving: Demonstrate strong listening, conflict resolution, and creative problem-solving skills. Proactively identify and address issues, keeping stakeholders informed throughout the process.
  • Internal Leadership: Exhibit thought leadership and a collaborative spirit within the Office of Alliances, consistently contributing to team success.
