The Associate Director, Retail Pharmacy is responsible for leading key retail pharmacy initiatives that support operational excellence, patient-centered service, business growth, and compliance with applicable pharmacy regulations and organizational standards. This role partners with cross-functional leaders to evaluate pharmacy performance, identify improvement opportunities, implement scalable solutions, and ensure alignment with broader enterprise pharmacy strategy. The Associate Director may oversee programs related to workflow optimization, pharmacy technology enablement, customer experience, clinical service delivery, inventory and dispensing performance, quality assurance, vendor or partner coordination, and associate readiness. This position requires strong leadership, pharmacy operations knowledge, analytical capability, and the ability to influence stakeholders across a complex healthcare organization. The Associate Director, Retail Pharmacy leads and supports the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of retail pharmacy operations and strategic initiatives. This position works closely with pharmacy leadership, clinical teams, operations, compliance, technology, finance, and customer experience partners to improve pharmacy performance and ensure reliable, compliant, and customer-focused service delivery. This role is responsible for financial, operational, and clinical outcomes while forging strong provider relationships to improve market share and further integrate pharmacy and the pharmacist into the care model. Through this integration, the Associate Director helps close adherence and quality gaps, enhance patient outcomes, and further reduce total cost of care. This role is accountable for translating business priorities into actionable plans, monitoring key performance indicators, managing risks and issues, and supporting initiatives that enhance access, affordability, quality, and customer satisfaction. Decisions are typically related to identifying and resolving complex technical and operational problems. The Associate Director also plays a key role in developing operational standards, supporting change management, ensuring teams are equipped to execute effectively, and leading and developing teams of highly specialized professional associates.
