About The Position

The Associate Director, Regional Marketing - AMR East will serve as the main contact for the marketing department in the eastern AMR region. This role involves coordinating with regional commercial teams, regional marketing, and global central marketing teams to manage the application of the company’s international marketing and sales strategies. The position requires identifying local market development needs and crafting marketing plans adapted to the region to promote the company’s strategic business progress. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the genomics landscape in the region and demonstrate success in developing short and medium-term product market strategies, including planning and executing regional strategies for new product introductions and growing market penetration.

Requirements

  • Solid understanding of the life science/genomic market in the AMR East region.
  • Confirmed marketing experience (5-8+ years) within a life science and/or genomic sequencing industry.
  • Demonstrable experience in the development of strategic and execution of tactical marketing plans.
  • Experience in working with channel partners (such as distributors, dealers etc).
  • Excellent organization and presentation skills, must have outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills and a passion for driving activities to a high-reaching timescale.
  • A detailed, focused, and analytical approach to problem solving.

  • Market knowledge and experience in LATAM region would be helpful.
  • Working in a global and matrixed environment, with the ability to influence across an organization at all levels, including previous experience in a highly matrixed organization would be preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies that are translated to operational plans in the assigned territories in AMR East region, focusing on growing sales and increasing profitability aligned with the company's strategic priorities.
  • Apply regional market knowledge and customer insights to develop marketing strategies. Find growth opportunities targeting vital local customers. Communicate global messages and manage local deployment plans throughout the AMR East region.
  • Understand the regional market trends, short- and long-term opportunities for our technology and products, and develop strategies and plans coordinated with the central marketing team.
  • Collect, evaluate, react to, and communicate field information to the global teams. Ensure that customer feedback is shared with the teams in order to influence Oxford Nanopore’s product development strategy and roadmap, as well as commercial goals and objectives.
  • Pilot, incubate, iterate profitable local programs/initiatives, and implement global marketing/commercial marketing programs in the region.
  • Implement and maintain consistency of the central marketing SOPs, standards, and measurement metrics in the AMR East region.
  • Follow the central marketing guideline, ensure the company’s core value, brand, ethos and tone of the voice are applied and consistent in the AMR East region.
  • Work closely with the regional Marketing Operations and Events teams to create and manage regional marketing activities.
  • In consultation with commercial leaders across the region and central marketing teams, identify local demand-generation marketing campaigns to support regional business growth.
  • Support the Marketing Operation team for the region to formulate and monitor the budget allocated for marketing plan execution.
  • Support track and report on marketing campaign results using agreed KPIs.
  • Deliver global and regional-focused sales trainings and programs as appropriate.
  • Regular training and support of regional channel partners, implement marketing channel partner initiatives on the regional level.
  • Work with the central marketing team, provide local competitor information with a set of sales tools that help regional sales teams to position and sell the company’s product portfolio.
  • Support the creation and/or the delivery of marketing materials/collaterals (digital and print; English and/or translated) as appropriate in the region.
  • Support sales by attending customer meetings and presentations as appropriate.
  • Partner with thought leaders to build and lead collaboration opportunities that support our commercial goals.
  • Setting, communicating and maintaining timelines and priorities, including expectation management on multiple projects.
  • Any other duties as might be required within the remit and responsibilities of the post.
