About The Position

DREAM is seeking an Associate Director of Program Data and Analytics to help build the strategy and own the execution for program-facing data systems and reporting across several core areas. This leader will oversee the design and continuous improvement of data collection, reporting, analysis, and business intelligence tools that support key programmatic decisions and outcomes. This role requires cross-functional leadership, stakeholder management, and technical fluency. The Associate Director must be able to translate program needs into scalable systems, prioritize across multiple internal clients, and drive adoption of data tools and practices across teams. Core programmatic areas include Extended Learning and Enrichment, Social Emotional Learning (SEL), Legends (DREAM graduate support), Athletics, Health, and Wellness (AHW), Family and Community Engagement (FACE), and Social Work and Mental Health.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in a related field preferred.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in education, youth development, data analysis, analytics, or data systems leadership.
  • Experience with SQL, required, and experience with Bigquery standard SQL preferred.
  • Experience with cloud data warehouse solutions such as BigQuery, Snowflake, or Redshift.
  • Experience with business intelligence and data visualization tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Power BI.
  • Experience conducting user-centered design, stakeholder discovery, or UX research to improve internal tools and processes.
  • Demonstrated success owning complex, cross-functional work that requires both strategic thinking and strong execution.
  • Experience partnering with senior stakeholders and navigating multiple priorities in a collaborative, solutions-oriented way.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to distill complex concepts into clear insights and recommendations.
  • Strong project and change management skills, including the ability to lead long-term initiatives and drive adoption across teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Python, Git, and modern data workflows, preferred.
  • Experience in a charter school management organization, youth development organization, or similarly complex mission-driven environment, a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the current suite of business intelligence products and utilize user research to enhance existing products as well as build new ones.
  • Serve as the primary data partner to senior program leaders across DREAM’s programmatic portfolio.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across programs to identify needs, clarify priorities, and translate business questions into data solutions.
  • Influence decision-making by helping leaders use data to drive program improvement, resource allocation, and strategic planning.
  • Create clarity and alignment around key program metrics, definitions, reporting cycles, and ownership.
  • Provide continuous oversight and improvement on program data systems.
  • Maintain relevant Python and FiveTran pipelines.
  • Develop expertise on DREAM’s BigQuery data warehouse.
  • Create Data Studio business intelligence products.
  • Ensure that program data systems are reliable, scalable, and aligned to both operational and strategic needs.
  • Lead efforts to improve data quality, survey administration, documentation, governance, and cross-system consistency.
  • Partner with technical teammates and external vendors as needed to enhance integrations, workflows, and reporting infrastructure.
  • Act as the point person for K-12 summer program data planning and execution.
  • Oversee recurring program reporting and analysis, including grants, school and alumni surveys, compliance, KPI tracking, and stakeholder-facing dashboards.
  • Lead the development of quarterly data day visualizations and other high-impact presentations for program and organizational leadership.
  • Partner with program leaders to identify trends, surface insights, and connect program participation and services to youth outcomes.
  • Support evaluation and analysis of key initiatives, including work related to counseling, attendance, engagement, and other priority program outcomes.
  • Ensure reporting is timely, accurate, decision-useful, and tailored to different audiences.
  • Lead the evolution of DREAM’s suite of business intelligence products for programs, ensuring tools are useful, intuitive, and aligned to stakeholder needs.
  • Conduct and apply user research to improve adoption, usability, and effectiveness of dashboards and reporting tools.
  • Identify opportunities to automate recurring workflows, simplify reporting, and reduce manual work for both the Data Team and program teams.
  • Contribute to network-wide data strategy and help shape the future of program data infrastructure at DREAM.
  • Lead analytic work that helps program leaders understand trends, assess performance, and identify opportunities for improvement across program areas.
  • Translate complex programmatic questions into analytic plans, actionable insights, and recommendations that support continuous improvement and strategic decision-making.
  • Manage large, cross-functional projects from scoping through execution, including planning, communication, change management, and follow-through.
  • Establish clear project plans and priorities across competing demands and ensure strong execution against deadlines.
  • Support the development of team systems, processes, and norms that improve responsiveness and sustainability.
  • Serve as the primary supervisor and coach for seasonal Data Interns.
