About The Position

Academic Approach is an educational services company that values excellence, integrity, and innovation. The Associate Director of Human Resources will support hiring, training, the Director of Talent Success, and other departments in staffing, evaluating, and retaining employees, including 1-on-1 instructors, school programs instructors, and full-time staff. This role requires strong organization, leadership, and communication skills. The position is based in the Lincoln Park Chicago office with flexibility for remote work, requiring one day per week in the office and availability for local travel to Chicagoland Schools as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Sharepoint, etc.)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Able to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Able to motivate positively and develop instructor capacity

Nice To Haves

  • Classroom or 1-on-1 Teaching experience with demonstrated track record of excellence preferred
  • Standardized testing and/or education experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the hiring process, including leading interviews and evaluating sample lessons.
  • Provide ratings and tracking information for candidates.
  • Track and facilitate necessary documentation for new hires using Applicant Tracking Systems (Pinpoint) and Human Resource systems (Rippling).
  • Manage and lead the advertisement process to recruit part-time and full-time staff.
  • Support School Program delivery teams by staffing instructors to classroom programs and school clients.
  • Provide project-based support to program delivery teams.
  • Develop and manage systems for instructor matching, school partner schedules, and instructional needs, and travel compensation.
  • Communicate directly with instructors to provide training and support on company-wide initiatives.
  • Assist in the offboarding process for departing employees in collaboration with the Director of Talent Success.
  • Provide last-minute instruction as a substitute instructor for school program clients as needed.
  • Develop deep knowledge of myacademicapproach.com, Academic Approach’s proprietary online system.
  • Develop deep knowledge of Salesforce, Rippling, and Pinpoint to support system-wide initiatives and instructor knowledge.
  • Provide support and guidance to instructors on utilizing and tracking data in these systems.
  • Provide hiring support and ratings through Academic Approach’s Applicant Tracking System(s).
  • Support instructional managers, coaches, and directing teams with focuses in areas such as bi-annual performance data analysis, program score improvement, and data fidelity.
  • Analyze areas of improvement for ongoing programs, organize necessary steps for tutor improvement, and help recommend and facilitate rematches as needed.
  • Assist in the development and facilitation of regular review cycles to determine program and instructor performance.
  • Design and lead a review system for part-time instructor calendars to identify capacity opportunities.
  • Track and send weekly updates on instructor performance to help identify areas for improvement.
